- Let’s observe the numerous religious statues.
- Let’s have a look at the local restaurants in Lyon, called “Bouchon” and typical menus.
- Let’s discover Renaissance courtyards with Mediterranean colors.
- Let’s meet and talk with local artisans (silk, stand glass, ceramics…).
- Let’s go inside the gothic Cathedral Saint Jean.
- Then, if you wish to… let’s taste some Lyon food specialties !

THE SILK ROAD – LYON CAPITAL OF SILK

Discover the second hill of the city, dedicated to the silk history: “LA CROIX ROUSSE”
- Visit of the Silk Museum: admire Jacquard silk looms from the XIX century. We will detail the life and the process of the silk workers and weavers.
- Visit of a design and textile « village » where new companies are helped to begin their activity Silk shop with scarves exclusively made in Lyon, for shopping…

A DAY IN THE CHARMING BEAUJOLAIS REGION
Wednesday, August 30th (ALL DAY)

Departure in a coach for a sightseeing tour in the southern part of Beaujolais region, 30 minutes from Lyon to the north, before Burgundy. A fluent English tour guide will be at your disposal .
- Two stops and Photo opportunities in typical villages in the middle of the slopes:
- Photo stop in BAGNOLS, famous for its XIIIth Century castle and typical farms,
- 30 minutes walking tour in OINGT, charming golden stones village, its medieval church and watch Tower, amazing view to the scenery with mountains covered with Douglas firs in the background…
- Then, continuation to ANSE and meeting with a fabulous wine owner, explanations about making wine, pruning vineyards, grapes, diseases etc…You’ll visit his private museum and discover tools to take care of the vineyards. Beaujolais Rosé, Côtes de Brouilly and white Beaujolais will be tasted with numerous samples of Olive bread, bacon bread, nuts bread with salami and cheese…
- Back again to the coach in order to reach the northern part of Beaujolais, next to Macon, very near to Burgundy. On the way, many information will be given about this famous region of France by your tour guide.
- Then, on the road again to climb up to the Mount BROUILLY to discover an amazing view to the valley, the east direction to the French Alps.
